Homes as Custom as You Choose

Designing the web experience for a custom home builder serving three very different types of buyers.

Designed a homepage around one clear decision point instead of a generic pitch.
Gave three very different buyer paths — build, customize, or buy under construction — equal visual weight.
Buyers self-select their path immediately, rather than guessing which part of the site applies to them.

The Challenge

Ziberty is a custom home builder serving the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. Buyers arrive with very different starting points — some want a fully custom home on their own lot, others want to customize an existing floor plan, and others just want a home already under construction — and the site had to route each of them without overwhelming the others.

The Approach

I designed the homepage around one clear decision point — "Homes as custom as you choose" — with three equally weighted entry paths (start from scratch, select a floor plan, select a home under construction) so visitors could self-select immediately instead of guessing which part of the site applied to them.

The Outcome

A homepage that does the qualifying work up front, so build-focused, plan-focused, and inventory-focused buyers all land in the right flow from their first click.
